Statistics Reading Group (Fall 2020‒present)
Statistics Reading Group is a weekly accountability and study group of students and faculty members working on linguistics and language science. We use Bodo Winter’s “Statistics for Linguists: An Introduction Using R” to learn how to use R to analyze linguistic data.
If you are interested in attending the Statistics Reading Group meetings, please contact me so that I can add you to the Canvas site.
Syntax & Processing Working Group (on hiatus)
Syntax and Processing Working Group is an informal gathering where students and faculty members can share their own research on language acquisition and processing. We meet on Fridays from 12pm till 1pm at GA 4024. The working group is where you can bring research ideas/proposals and works in progress to get feedback from your peers and mentors, and, as audience, practice giving constructive feedback—in other words, “What’s cooking and how can we make it better?” (Dekydtspotter, p.c.). We may occasionally read and discuss a paper, if there are available slots. You are encouraged, but not required, to attend every meeting.
